2013. The year is about to close. Isn't is too fast? But we always come to face it no matter how slow and no matter how fast. 

It's about time for the year-end award ceremonies.

The 2013 Melon Music Awards has been concluded last November 14, 2013 at Olympic Gymnastic Arena in Soul. The Melon Music Awards is a major music awards show that is held annually in South Korea organized by LEON Entertainment through its online music service Melon. It is known for only calculating digital sales and online votes to judge winners (Wikipedia, 2013).

One of the major awards of the said event is the DAESANG - ARTIST of the YEAR and for this year's Artist of the Year goes to *drum rolls* no other than my

I remember posting this few days ago on our FB group because I was taken aback by such fanaccount when I saw it on my twitter. 

"A fan asked taemin if he thinks SHINee will win daesang this year and he said no . via : taemajesty trans. by bling_saur"

As a fan, it hurts me as to how pessimistic Taemin was when he answered the question but nevertheless, I actually can't blame him because maybe for the past few years, he has been hoping to receive such award but we (SHINee+SHINee World together) cannot make it. And yes, the question was answered by the MMA itself.

My knees are actually shaking when I read tweets about how the boys reacted when they heard they WON. That's right, I updated myself one day later after they received the award because I had to deal with my school works. For my goodness, I WANT TO BREAKDOWN l i t e r a l l y. 

If you are non-shawol, you might have no idea how SHINee's schedule is like this year 2013. Below is basically the summary of all EXCLUDING radio guesting, fansign events and otther extra-curriculars.

BIG YES! It seems like EVERY MONTH THEY HAVE TO RELEASE AN ALBUM MAKING US POOR BUT WHAT MATTERS ACTUALLY IS HOW THEY COPE UP WITH EVERYTHING ESPECIALLY WITH THEIR HEALTH. CRAZY ISN'T IT?! 

AND THIS IS WHAT THEY TAUGHT US:

Number 1. They don't tell us they want this award and this they just do what they do - being the CDINee everyone admires.

2. SHINee is not the most popular group and they don't always win in music shows. In fact, they weren't able ...... WE WEREN'T able to give them trophy for WSS promotions. It hurts but they never complained. They never showed the sad face but instead they play with the confetti if their co-artist wins and even hug if the opponent wins. They smile despite the difficulties and even despite disappointments.

3. SHINee often receives criticisms. It sucks because the past months have been chaotic in a sense that I see people and even I see myself defending them from the words of the haters. Nonetheless, it is not always the case because sometimes, we shut our mouth and let the haters see how will SHINee prove them wrong. They actually did.

4. Giving up. This word does not exist in SHINee's dictionary.

5. Winning something or to be recognized, it is not ABRACADABRA. SHINee got it because of hardwork. From endless promotions, unimaginable itinerary, to the overwhelming number of guesting and concerts.

Maybe that's the reason why all of them cried when they received the award.

THE PERSON I SAW WITH MY VERY TWO EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO BE HONEST, HE LOOKS DIFFERENT IN REAL LIFE. SO HANDSOME, BRIGHT, TALL AND SMOOTH!! FIRST TIME SEEING A KOREAN ACTOR FOR REAL. LIFE IS GOOD.

My school ended at 3:40 pm so I rushed back to my dorm in order to sleep because I am sure a tough long night is waiting for me because of school works. I took a nap for 50 minutes and when I woke up, I was flabbergasted at the number of text messages I received.

What was very surprising was the text from a friend of mine. You all should know that the casts of No Breathing Korean Movie came to Davao City Philippines to shoot the last scenes of the movie.

So why did I tell you about No Breathing? Obviously, I am studying in Davao City so it's like 1 in a million chances for them to be this close.

Anyways, let's continue. So the text goes like this:

WHO SAYS I AM NOT PROUD?

So Hi. Long time no see. I have this ENGLISH Subject at school which is more into Public Speaking. Our exam is to do an informative speech of whatever topic and so I was torn between two topics and one is about being a K-pop fan. I actually made a speech about the other topic but later on decided to do this instead. I even memorized this speech before I have memorized the other one LOL So it goes like this:

        Imagine you are locked inside a dark spacious room. Everything is ambiguous. Everything creeps you out. You heard a ticking sound - someone switches the lights on. You flashed a bright smile but it eventually faded. You saw so many doors with the word "ENTRANCE" in it. You were hesitant but you decided to go through one of those. You walked on a seemingly endless path and when it feels like the journey is over...there it is. Words like "Congratulations. You just entered the world of K-pop."

What is K-pop? K-pop means Korean Pop. Korean Music and a lot of people do become fans of such music. How one becomes a k-pop fan? And if you become one, how it is like to be one? How to be a k-pop fan? To simplify things, may I present to you the stages a person will undergo. 

The Interested Stage. The stage where you are presented with various of boy and girl who make good and catchy music groups (example the famous 2NE1, SHINee, SUPER JUNIOR. You find them interesting because besides the talents they can boost, they also have those graciously good-looking members. This is also the time that you will choose which group to scrutinize more.

The Starstruck Stage. To dig deeper. You will track down their entire filmography. You begin to watch all their interviews and variety shows. You will conduct a thorough research and find out that K-POP fans have names that vary from one artist to another. It is called FANDOM (fan+kingdom) 2NE1's fandom is BLACKJACK, SHINee's is  SHINee WORLD, SUJU's is ELF. You will also know that there is a fanclub color. 2ne1 is hot pink, SHINee is pearl aqua, SUJU is sapphire blue. You also start to download all their pictures and videos and you squeal everytime you see them.

Development Stage. This stage is the time you begin to buy the artist's albums. Albums come with a poster and  vary from time to time. You also tend to buy related merchandises such as t-shirts, fans, ballers and etc. Also, you cry, weep or even leak everytime they win an award.  A mere attraction is now converted to love. 

Maturity Stage. You love them. You spend so much for them but there is more to come. Korean artists also hold concerts. Prices though are quite cost ineffective. The most expensive is around 15000pesos VIP and the cheapest is 1500 General Admission BUT prices vary from country to country. What is unique in a k-pop concert however is the ocean thousands of fans make through their lightstick. Moreover, this is when you become open to criticisms. People insult your favorite group, then so be it. 

Denial Stage. Perhaps the most interesting facet. You start giving hate comments and statements about your favorite group. You accuse them as LIFE RUINERS because they are indeed. Giving you too much heartattacks with overly atttractive clothers, making you explode with too much feels because of their actions, and lastly giving you one heck of a roller coaster ride of mix emotions. 

Being a fan is complicated. You are hopelessly devoted. To some though, it is a source of inspiration. For few, it is an escape to the sometimes harsh reality. Its impact differs from one person to another. But what a one fan usually does, generally will most probably be done by the others. Now you want to go back to the dark spacious room. Free yourself from all these. But unlike before where you saw so many doors with the word "ENTRANCE", the door with the word "EXIT" seems nowhere to be found.

Let's get back to reality. Celebrating SHINee's 5th Anniversary on the anniversary day itself is too mainstream and we beg to differ. Ops don't be mad I am just having an excuse. Peace. ^^

SHINee is one of the K-pop artists who have the biggest fan kingdom or fandom here in the Philippines. The official fanclub name of SHINee here is simply SHINee World Philippines. Guess what? It's amazing to know how the three biggest islands in the Philippines namely Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao held a gathering to celebrate SHINee's anniversary together.

Tada~ effort at its best. I visited Google Images and typed "Philippine islands" on the search box and unexpectedly, Google gave me this. Perfect! It is because the cities mentioned in the map are the cities where the gatherings were held.

Luzon -> Manila

They had their Anniversary gathering on May 25, 2013 same day to Dream Girl + Why So Serious Album Launch.

Yours truly is not going to elaborate because I was not there in the first place.

Visayas -> Cebu

As far as I can remember, I saw the event page of SHINee World Cebu regarding their anniversary gathering. If I am not mistaken, they also held their meeting on May 25, 2013.

Mindanao -> Davao

Mindanao Shawols, as what we refer to ourselves, celebrated SHINee's Anniversary together on a Sunday last May 26, 2013. I know, it's one day late but there's a saying that goes like "better late than never". *sticks tongue out* 

Before anything else, I was one of the event organizer/volunteer and mind you it is not easy to organize such a small event. How much more a big event right? T_T 

So what did we do? It's quite simple but not the cliche type gathering.

We started around 2:30 in the afternoon even if the proposed schedule was to start the program at exactly 1 o'clock. Don't ask me the reason behind the delay because you guys probably guessed it right already. Yes! That is right. We cannot control everyone to be on time though there are some who are really on time.

1st Activity: Guess that SHINee Song

This might be common but heck yeah a singer got us head over heels so it is inevitable to have a game like this. Everyone was allowed to join except for the organizers. The thing here is I just want to point out that this game became a one-sided game HAHAHAHAHA. The game master purposely chose those songs not often heard from SHINee to make the game more challenging but one person really got the knowledge of almost everything. Imagine with only an opening hymn playing for not more than 10 seconds she can already tell the title. DAEBAK. I was dumbfounded. I don't even know the answer unless I hear the lyrics. LOL

Easy win that is. She took away all the prizes (almost) cause we prohibited her from joining on the last few songs. You know "Give chance to others" kekekeke~

2nd Activity: Let's watch ourselves

Mindanao Shawols participated in an International Fan Project lead by Youlahaha in which fans around the world will give their congratulatory messages to SHINee. Since we were already gathered and it's their anniversary, we decided to stream the anniversary video and watch ourselves together. Check the video below:

If you haven't recognized, the 2nd video after Indonesia which is from the Philippines is from Mindanao Shawols. YEY and so yes we laughed so hard because of our faces. LMAO

3rd Activity: SHINee World 1st Concert in Seoul Screening

Screening! Yes! SHINee in big screen! But not the cinema type because we can't afford. Buahahaha. Let's just say it's an innovation. Get some white big cloth and tacked it on a wall, use some projector and a laptop,  ready some deadly loud speakers and play the concert...BOOM finish.

Simple. We just had our own little concert with the lights off, no lighstick though, but we had our balloons.

I don't have anything to say in this part though because I wasn't paying attention while Disc 1 is playing and we went to the mall to buy our snacks while this was playing. 

4th Activity: Hold the Note

The player must be able to hold the last note of the given song for as long as possible. Obviously, player with longest time wins. 

We picked 5 people from the crowd (OT5) to participate in the game. Fortunately, we had 1 MVP, 1 Taemint, 1 Blinger and 2 Minho. YES. Sad to note, we were not able to pick a Locket (I am a locket but I am not allowed to participate ke). So much for that, it was very funny to see their faces while holding the note hahahaha so cute and adorable dongsaengs. To sum it all up, the participant who won was *drum roll* a BLINGER. Outstanding 22 something seconds of holding the note and we therefore concluded, LIKE BIAS LIKE FAN.

5th Activity: Saengil Chukahamnida~

SHINee's birthday so we must not miss the cake and sing Happy Birthday! \O/

6th Activity: Intermission Baby "Honesty"

Who would have thought that Korean Shawols edited HONESTY and entitled it to SINCERELY which contains the feelings of ShaWols toward SHINee? No one right and it made OT5 cry during the fan meeting event. Also, if our boys are so talented, their fans also are talented may it be in singing, dancing, acting, rapping or etc.

Let me acknowledge my co-organizers namely Pam and Jenn who sang Honesty to entertain us all during the event. *standing ovation" Their calm and soft voices melted our very hearts as the song is also a sweet song that contains SHINee's feelings toward their fans. ❤❤❤❤❤

7th Activity: Ultimate SHINee Quiz Bee

Mechanics of the game (credits to my co-volunteer who was assigned to this): The game master will ask a series of questions about SHINee with varying difficulty, and each question with a corresponding amount of points. Each player/group will be given an amount of time to answer the question. After three rounds, the person/group with the most number of points wins.

We grouped the crowd into 4 groups each with 3 members but one group got 4 members. We asked various of questions related to SHINee. From discography, casting, variety shows down to just you know questions. We chose the 1st and 2nd placers to receive our prizes because we have many prizes so why not give. CHAR.

8th Activity: SHINee World 1st Concert in Seoul Screening Part 2

HAHAHAHA. Playing around whil watching doesn't hurt right? So why not. Posting this because it's my face. LOL

 We were really crazy while watching the concert please. The way we do the fanchants and screams and jumps feel like we were at a real concert.

AND JUST LIKE HOW SHINee cried at the end because of HANA/ONE, we also became so emotional. It felt like we will experience concert withdrawal in a few minutes once SHINee disappear on the stage. AS IF IT WAS A REAL CONCERT HAHAHAHAHAHA but yeah jincha! ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ DID I MENTION THIS WAS THE CONCERT WHERE JJONG WAS CRYING HIS LUNGS OUT BECAUSE HE WAS INJURED? "SHINee WORLD mianhaeyo~~" OMG WHAT DON'T SAY SORRY. TOGETHER WITH K-SHAWOLS, WE CHANTED "GWENCHANA GWENCHANA GWENCHANA" which means "it's okay". ㅠㅠㅠㅠ ___ ㅠㅠㅠㅠ and so that's it. IT ENDED.

...... IT ENDED. DON'T GO SHINee DON'T GO. hehehehehe~ >.<

9th Activity: Memoir

Picture taking! HAHAHAHA this will forever be the last activity. It's needed though to keep our memories together because it is a one precious memory to be kept and be remembered some other time. We will look back and tell ourselves, "wow I remember this, and this and this" and how amazing it was to be with some people who understand our liking to K-pop".

So many problems encountered while preparing. Originally, the plan was to screen Japan Arena Tour instead of SWC but we had some difficulties so yeah~ Also, the organizers were really nervous a week before the event because of the thoughts like what if we cannot reach the expected number of attendees (which is actually 30)  then that means we will have a surplus in our freebies, we MIGHT be using our own money to pay the venue as well as buy the snacks. That would be a dilemma! /insert panicking person gif here/ We were actually on the verge of giving up and cancelling the event but we took the risk and pushed the event for the love for SHINee. /sigh/ Oh by the way, we were only 18 (16 fangirls and 2 fanboys) in the event and yes we did not reach 30 OTL but it's okay. With that, we were more INTIMATE. Pyooong~ our gathering theme is INTIMACY by the way. ((please don't spread i made that up lol))

Hello. I am back with another fan post and this time it will be a little dramatic and nostalgic because my favorite Korean Boy Band is celebrating their 5th Anniversary today.

SHINee debuted as a 5-member Korean boy band with the title song "Replay" way back May 25, 2008 and the date today is? CORRECT. It's May 25, 2013 and it is exactly 5 years since then.

I will change my way of writing. I am not going to post an essay but rather a poem. YES a poem that I personally made for my 5 boys.  

Okay. This is it. 

Memoir

Memories scratch at my heart 

Which feel like they’re about to rip me apart 

Since replay until why so serious era 

Everything we saw is a one precious opera

But the world isn’t as easy as it seems 

Staggering and stumbling isn’t it interesting 

Through the years, we have a bumpy road 

That sometimes messed up our own mood

We can’t escape this habit of chasing you 

People say we are dumbs that we love you 

Daggers stab us in front and in back

However the challenges are always fun

Reserve as he maybe but talk about soccer he will go crazy

How was it? I hope it's good enough. I made that during the entire week since Monday May 20, 2013. I only finished some parts in a day then continue the other on the next days. I know my English is not good and I admit that. My weakest subject to be very honest. 

BUT OKAY I LOVE THESE 5 BOYS SO MUCH. I KNOW IT IS WEIRD TO SOME OF YOU BUT REALLY TO ME THEY ARE VERY IMPORTANT AND A PART OF MY LIFE TOO. I HAVE MET SO MANY PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD WHO CAN UNDERSTAND ME AND I AM THANKFUL BECAUSE SHINee BROUGHT THEM INTO MY LIFE.

Did you guys notice the BOLD words, sentence, phrases or duh those things in BOLD? YES? YES? Those are English translations of "some" lyrics of SHINee debut and comeback songs since 2008 to 2013. We have there from Replay, Love Like Oxygen, A.Mi.Go, Juliette, Ring Ding Dong, Lucifer, Hello, Sherlock, Dream Girl and Why So Serious. Look Look and Check. Teheeeeee~~~

Goodbye Stage is not relevant. It's a COMEBACK.

Guess what? I am writing twice in a day now *dances* 

Basically this post is a fan post once again or rather a continuation of my post awhile ago. 

My SHINee boys are back on stage with WHY SO SERIOUS as 5 finally after 1 month and 22 days to be exact. In addition, they performed one of the tracks in their album entitled Sleepless Night and it is a ballad song.

Did you guys know how fulfilling it is to see all of them on stage? Okay you don't unless you are a fan too! 

So first, while waiting for SHINee stage on M! Countdown, we started to trend a twitter hashtag to commemorate KIM JONGHYUN'S comeback on stage. This is the hashtag: #종현의컴백축하해요 which is translated to "Jonghyun Comeback Congratulations" and ofcourse with the cooperation of all SHAWOL (SHINee's fanclub name) around the world, it hits the worldwide trends and stayed there for hours! yes H O U R S! See? The supreme power.

Next, their performance.

The video contained their backstage interview, their performance of Sleepless Night + Why So Serious and the ending stage where they were all together with the other artists and they are so close to SHINHWA. CUTEST. 

Sleepless Night Stage

CRIES. Too beautiful. They are all wearing black and white clothes and were illuminated by the lamp posts behind them. Scratch that. What makes them bright is actually the fact that they are complete. A freaking 5 complete number. Their voices melt your heart from the very deep part of it that you just want to cry because very excruciating. I don't say in a bad way but in a good way. The soothing voices that make you just sit on your bed, hug a pillow, and close your eyes to feel every bit of emotion they want to convey. Highlight though is when the cameraman shows Jonghyun and you cannot do anything to stop your tears from falling. Everytime he is shown!

Why So Serious Stage

Lovely little piece of zombies. They scream, jump, walk like a zombie, pose a shock expression, stagger and stumble and ah move move just keep on moving. HAHAHAHAHA. What am I saying I don't understand. It's just that the performance was so beautiful with all the 5 different voices. As for the highlight, it's still Jonghyun when he did the long note. WOW. MINDBLOWN. Mouth open! Very well done.

P.S HE DIDN'T DO THE HALF SPLIT. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ONEW IS NOT ALONE ANYMORE. OH MY OUR TWO OLD BOYS. KEKEKEKEKE~

Overall, Jjong was struggling maybe because he is not FULLY recovered and healed yet and the effort he must exert to do the choreography and hit the notes. That is why we are very thankful to how he worked hard and appeared in front of us without any second thoughts. We are proud of you KJH. 

As you can see on the video, there are lots of cute moments. AND I SEE JONGKEY. JONGKEY IS BACK! \O/ YES due to jjong's incident we are not only deprived of his presence but also Jonghyun-Key interactions. The ship is sailing once again my dearest people.
